Gov. Mohamad Khalid Dimaporo

Position and affiliation during the program:
Governor, Lanao del Norte

Articulated vision during the program: Equitable access to health care for all constituents of Lanao del Norte

“As local chief executive, it is important that I set the over-all strategy of achieving an objective to harmonize the actions of all departments involved and ensure synergy.”

Khalid Dimaporo is a descendant of two political dynasties in Lanao del Norte, namely the Quibranza clan and the Dimaporo clan. While he cannot deny the lessons he learned from his parents, he decided not to count on their influence when making political decisions and decided to come up with his own list of personal achievements. To do this, he got a Bachelor’s Degree in International Economics and a Master’s Degree in Developmental Economics from the University of California. Khalid was a bright and competitive student who has been on the National Dean’s List of the United States. When he returned to the Philippines, he ran for governor and subsequently won; and in order to gain the trust of the local government, he visited all the barangays in Lanao del Norte. Aside from his gubernatorial duties, he also holds positions in various companies such as: A&A Ranches, Muslim Diversified Agriculture, CONFED Mindanao and many others. As such, all of these connections put Governor Khalid in a very favorable position to provide the people of Lanao del Norte access to hospitals and clinics and provide for their quality health care.
